"Their exceptional luster and silky hand make them a joy to spin. For novelty yarns, this type of Lincoln fleece has incredible sheen and a lively texture. Or, from a dyer's point of view, few fleeces match Lincoln's ability to take a depth of color and retain their wonderful luster." Judith MacKenzie McCuin - Fiber Artist

"Kim sent me a box of Lincoln and my hands plunged right in even as my eye feasted on the way that the light reflected off of the individual strands and even more off of the plied yarn. I immediately set to work spinning the gray for tapestry weft. In my pursuit of an increasingly diverse palette, I’m always searching for natural grays to use as they are and as base colors to overdye. This roving, a dark blue-gray, fit right in... Some skeins I dyed and others I wove directly into the piece on which I was working. The yarn seemed to pull the light right into the tapestry. Then I spun some more." Sarah Swett - Tapestry Artist

"Over the past quarter century, for my art work I have focused on using Lincoln wools from our best growers. Lincoln wool is superb for my handspun warps which are as strong as wire; and for my lustrous wefts, which seem to glow in the dimmest of light. The sensibilities I pursue in my art work are similar to those prized in Japanese raku pottery -- where the inherent nature of the materials used are coaxed to take center stage where those special qualities can be savored and appreciated. In using Lincoln fleece for my wools, my art also achieves the same feel, character, and appearance as the priceless carpet treasures of the ancient Near East which are traditionally made of the most lustrous of fibers. And it is Lincoln wools with the traditional natural dye palette which provide the ancient medium by which I express myself as a contemporary New York City artist. Lincoln is utterly ssential for my creation of aesthetic art work that delights viewers and collectors. And the more they stand before the art enchanted by this luminous fiber, the more profoundly this art work touches them." Stanley Bulbach - Tapestry Artist
